Tips N' Tricks…

It is fairly certain that the first attempt will be full of mistakes and failures. At least mine was! It is also definite that every mistake is reversible. With these two in mind, I can point out three tips which seemed useful to me… whenever I managed to apply them:

1. Don't get stressed, don't get frustrated! Everything will turn out fine… eventually.
2. The saying of all technicians "count ten, cut once" is 100% true!
3. The analytical and detailed recording of each step of the process, and particularly of the difficulties and errors that arise, is the biggest guarantee for the comprehension of your mistakes and their replacement by more complicated ones during your next attempt…

Responsibility Waiver:
The primary purpose of this article is to infuse the "dream" of creating a hand/homemade board into other surfers. It also aims at becoming the starting point for communication between aspiring shapers and for the exchange of ideas, methods and queries. Finally, it would be fortunate, if it provides some basic guidelines and even a small help for all ambitious beginner shapers.

Nevertheless, all the information given, is my personal opinion and is based on personal experience and online research. It does not constitute either scientific truth or inviolable rules and optimum solutions. The entire procedure includes a number of serious dangers which can lead to injury, disability, death, incurable disease and other misfortunes, since it involves the use of tools, machinery, chemical substances and dreams…

Obviously, I bear no responsibility for anything bad that occurs. If however everything turns out well, and the custom board reaches the water and manages to plane, I believe a cold beer is in order…
